Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a civil/environmental/mechanical engineer capable of designing site layouts, grading, hydraulics, water and sewer systems, and related structures. You will review regulatory compliance, mentor junior staff, and support proposal development to meet client needs.

Travel may be required; the role involves collaboration with sales, clients, and internal teams to deliver world-class engineering solutions. A PE license and 7 years of related experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Eng.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license. 7 years of related experience.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Designs basic to highly complex engineering layouts including site layout, grading, hydraulics, hydrology, water distribution, collection systems, storage tanks and impoundments, foundation designs, and stormwater infrastructure.
• Reviews draft designs for compliance with regulations at federal, state and local levels.
• Mentors junior staff and provides technical guidance; may supervise junior engineers.
• Collaborates with sales staff to create proposals in response to RFPs and reviews draft proposals for regulatory adherence.
• Meets with clients to review design needs and attends conferences to showcase firm's products.
