Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking an experienced civil/environmental/mechanical engineer to lead complex design work including site layout, grading, hydraulics and water systems. You will review designs for regulatory compliance and partner with sales to create technical proposals for RFPs.

The role involves mentoring junior staff, may supervise engineers, and requires travel up to 40% domestically and internationally. PE licensure preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Mechanical Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or to be obtained.
• At least 7 years of related engineering experience.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Responsibilities

• Create and sign off on complex designs including site layout, grading, hydraulics, distributions and stormwater.
• Review designs for compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
• Mentor and train junior staff; may supervise junior engineers.
• Collaborate with sales to develop technical proposals and respond to RFPs.
• Attend conferences to showcase firm's products and services.
• Ensure proposals align with firm, industry, and regulatory best practices.
