Job summary

Arcadis U.S.Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer (Civil/Environmental) to support the Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project in the Newark area.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team on one of the nation’s most significant infrastructure initiatives, contributing to design reviews, construction support, and project controls. The role requires a civil/environmental engineering background, experience on large infrastructure projects, and strong technical writing and coordination skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering, or related discipline.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in NJ or NY preferred.
• 5–10 years of experience in civil, water resources, or environmental engineering on large infrastructure or transportation projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with design reviews, resolve technical issues, and coordinate design change documentation.
• Provide technical support during construction, review contractor submittals, and monitor progress against milestones.
• Facilitate communication among stakeholders, schedule meetings, and assist with project documentation, including drawings and specifications.
• Provide opinions on constructability, means and methods, and the impacts of technical decisions on the overall project, including analysis of critical path schedule impacts and scenario analyses.
• Support the integration and coordination of all HTP Packages, ensuring comprehensive interface management and collaboration among design, construction, and operations teams.
• Assist with programmatic oversight and management of project controls functions, including schedule, cost, change, risk, and document management.
