Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a highly skilled Assistant Resident Engineer to support the Gateway Hudson Tunnel Project in the United States. You will assist with field supervision, compliance, documentation, quality assurance, and coordination to ensure successful package delivery in line with regulatory and contractual requirements.

As a Delivery Partner, you will help deliver a two-track rail tunnel and rehabilitation of the North River Tunnel, serving Amtrak and NJ TRANSIT passengers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in construction management, field engineering, or inspection on large-scale infrastructure or transportation projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist with site supervision and field management, supporting oversight of construction activities by the Project Contractor.
• Ensure compliance with construction management plans, safety and security protocols, and project requirements.
• Monitor and document daily construction activities, including safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
• Participate in precondition surveys, mitigation planning, and punch-list resolution.
• Support development and implementation of environmental monitoring and compliance programs.
• Assist with NEPA evaluations and environmental control plans.
• Help ensure Buy America compliance and regulatory requirements.
• Assist with schedule management, cost estimating, and budget tracking.
• Maintain and update construction documents, drawings, specifications, and records of changes.
• Review contractor daily inspection reports, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Maintain systematic project records and logbooks.
• Support quality management plans and quality audits.
• Coordinate interface management and reporting on interfaces.
• Support safety plans and review contractor safety plans.
• Assist with close-out, warranty tracking, and as-built reviews.
• Support asset maintenance planning and lifecycle considerations.
