Job summary

The University of Michigan in Ann Arbor seeks a Senior Civil Engineer to support capital civil projects. You will lead design management, oversee consultants and project teams, conduct meetings, track progress, and ensure the highest quality standards throughout the design and documentation process.

You will coordinate with City agencies on roads, utilities, permitting, and ADA/PROWAG accessibility, review campus plans, and advise stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of civil engineering experience.
• Registration as a professional engineer (PE).
• Broad knowledge of civil engineering principles.
• Bachelor’s degree from an ABET-accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Lead design management for civil capital projects and direct activities of engineers and consultants.
• Coordinate with City/MDOT on road, utilities, ROW, and permitting; oversee submittals and approvals.
• Prepare/oversee graphics and reports; conduct project meetings and tracking.
• Ensure ADA and PROWAG compliance in sidewalks, ramps, crosswalks, and site design elements.
• Review campus plans and advise on regulatory compliance and university goals.
