Job summary

WSP USA is seeking an Experienced Professional, Civil Engineer to join the Colorado Transportation team in our Denver office. This role provides technical support for due diligence, design, permitting, and construction of infrastructure projects across public and private sectors.

The candidate will collect and analyze data, contribute to modeling and concept development, and work with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with standards and permits while delivering high-quality results.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or closely related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant post education experience in engineering discipline and prior civil design experience.
  • Engineer in Training Certification.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and permitting.
  • Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management; including rehabilitation and new design.
  • Ability to coordinate with agency regulators and understand requirements.
  • Knowledge of environmental/greenhouse gas reduction concepts.
  • Knowledge of civil construction laws, codes, regulations, and reporting.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to learn new techniques and manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Collect and analyze data from site, surveys, GIS data, and drawings for project development and design.
  • Perform professional civil engineering work and inspect proposed site conditions to ensure conformance with permits.
  • Participate in modeling, concept development, and design requirements for safe, functional infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with engineers, planners, and scientists to execute project work and cost estimation.
  • Verify site characteristics and provide technical assistance on engineering issues.
  • Prepare data visualizations, reports, and sketches for presentations.
  • Maintain quality control standards for measurements, analysis, and reporting.
  • Assist with development and scoping of small- to mid-sized projects.
  • Contribute to technical reports and presentations addressing design/construction issues.
  • Support safety plans and regulatory compliance activities.
