Job summary

WSP is seeking an Experienced Professional, Civil Engineer to join the Colorado Transportation team in Denver, CO. Based at the Denver-Colorado Blvd office, the role supports due diligence, design, permitting, and construction for infrastructure projects across public and private sectors.

You will collect and analyze data, perform civil engineering work, and contribute to reports, models, and drawings, collaborating with engineers, planners, and professionals to meet safety and functionality

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or closely related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant post-education experience in engineering discipline and prior civil design experience.
  • Engineer in Training Certification.
  • Knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and permitting.
  • Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management; including rehabilitation and new design.
  • Ability to coordinate with agency regulators and understand requirements.
  • Knowledge of rules, codes, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
  • Capable interpersonal and communication skills for technical and non-engineering audiences.
  • Ability to learn new techniques, manage multiple priorities, and work independently.
  • Experience with discipline-specific design software listed above.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze data from site surveys, GIS, and plans for project development and construction.
  • Perform civil engineering work and assist with site condition research and inspections.
  • Incorporate advanced modeling techniques and design standards.
  • Work solo or in cross-functional teams to execute project work and ensure compliance with specifications and permits.
  • Verify site characteristics and provide technical assistance on design and construction issues.
  • Prepare data visualizations, tables, charts, and reports for findings.
  • Maintain quality control for measurements and reporting.
  • Assist in development and scoping of small- to medium-sized projects.
  • Contribute to technical reports and presentations to address design/construction issues.
  • Conduct engineering studies and surveys for future needs and risk mitigation.
