Job summary

D'Leon Consulting Engineers seeks an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to lead planning, design, and delivery of complex transportation projects in the Seattle area. The role requires PE licensure, strong coordination across disciplines, and delivery-focused leadership.

Responsibilities include directing design efforts, preparing technical documents, and ensuring compliance with WSDOT, Sound Transit, and AASHTO standards.

Qualifications

• PE license required; Washington license preferred or ability to obtain comity.
• 10+ years of progressive civil engineering experience, with transportation infrastructure focus.
• Experience with civil design for light rail transit, roadway, highway, or major projects.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer or similar.
• Knowledge of WSDOT, Sound Transit, AASHTO and local standards.
• Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and public agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support planning, design, and development of transportation infrastructure projects including light rail, roadway, and highway improvements.
• Prepare, review, and oversee designs, plans, specs, reports, and construction documents.
• Perform civil design activities including roadway geometry, drainage, utilities, and site development.
• Provide guidance and oversight to engineering teams ensuring quality and compliance.
• Coordinate with civil, structural, rail, traffic, drainage, and utility disciplines for project integration.
• Collaborate with agencies, consultants, contractors to address design requirements and approvals.
• Review calculations, drawings, submittals, and specs for compliance.
• Support project management activities including schedules, budgets, and resources.
• Identify and resolve design conflicts and constructability issues.
