Alta Planning + Design is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineering Associate to join our Seattle team and lead Puget Sound market initiatives. You will work on sustainable transportation projects and contribute to community-focused planning.
The role emphasizes mentoring staff, overseeing projects from design through construction, and collaborating across offices within a hybrid work environment in Seattle. A WA PE license and 12+ years in transportation engineering are highly valued.
Qualifications
- 12+ years of experience as a Transportation Engineer in a consulting environment or public entity.
- 5+ years as a Project Manager.
- 3+ years managing staff.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Washington PE license.
- Experience in active, non-motorized transportation.
- Experience preparing Plans, Specifications and Estimates packages.
Responsibilities
- Lead business development activities across the market area.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to staff across offices.
- Manage transportation projects from design through construction and manage budgets.
- Implement best practices to improve project delivery.
- Prepare schedule, budgets, and scope of services for projects.
- Attend industry conferences and professional organization meetings to conduct business development.
