Job summary

Apex Companies, LLC. is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead civil infrastructure projects in Logan, Utah. You will collaborate with city and county clients, manage multi‑million dollar programs, and drive project delivery from planning through construction while mentoring staff.

You will engage directly with public agency representatives, support business development, and help grow Apex’s presence in the region, leveraging your technical expertise and client relationship skills.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in consulting civil engineering, with public agency projects.
• Active P.E. license in Utah or ability to obtain soon.
• Experience attending and presenting at city/county meetings.
• Experience delivering public infrastructure projects (transportation, water, wastewater, stormwater).
• Strong understanding of civil engineering design principles, codes, and permitting.
• Proven ability to communicate technical information to clients and stakeholders.
• Experience developing and maintaining relationships with municipalities, counties, and utilities.
• Proven history of managing schedules, budgets, and deliverables.
• Ability to develop practical engineering solutions addressing community needs.

Responsibilities

• Serve as senior technical lead on projects with substantial annual totals.
• Contribute to business development efforts and client pursuits.
• Manage civil projects from planning through construction and closeout.
• Attend city council and county meetings to discuss projects.
• Build and maintain relationships with public agency stakeholders and utilities.
• Estimate and monitor labor hours; review job costing and take corrective action.
• Ensure schedules, budgets, and quality meet project objectives.
• Mentor junior staff and support professional development.
• Identify opportunities for proposals and client presentations.
• Participate in professional organizations to expand the firm’s presence.
