Job summary

The Illinois Department of Transportation is seeking a Senior Program Analysis Engineer (Civil Engineer IV) to develop and monitor the district's Annual and Multi-Year Highway Improvement Programs while overseeing Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping projects.

This union-position requires a P.E. or Structural Engineer license in Illinois and four years of civil engineering experience; strong Excel, GIS, and coordination with staff and stakeholders are preferred.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer in Illinois (P.E.) or a Licensed Structural Engineer in Illinois.
• Four years of experience in civil engineering.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the development of the district’s Annual and Multi-Year Programs (MYP).
• Coordinates the scoping activities and prepares programming cost estimates.
• Coordinates data necessary to maintain up-to-date records in PPS.
• Coordinates status of annual and MYP data internally and with other offices.
• Monitors the condition of the highway network and improvement needs.
• Coordinates GIS mapping projects for district staff.
• Reviews preliminary and final plans to ensure alignment with MYP.
• Performs duties in compliance with safety rules and equitable treatment of employees.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
