Apex Engineering Group, Inc. is seeking a Lead Engineer in Fargo, ND to mentor a team of engineers, technicians and support staff from planning through construction. You will independently manage municipal projects and collaborate on designs, specifications and project plans.

The role emphasizes business development, client communication, and proven PM and construction management skills. A PE license and 7+ years’ experience are preferred; the company offers a competitive salary and strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required; Master’s degree a plus.
• Professional Engineer license preferred or ability to be licensed within 6-12 months.
• 7+ years of civil engineering experience in municipal projects.
• Experience with water/sewer utilities, roadways, drainage design/drawings and cost opinions.
• Experience with local, county or state agencies is a plus.
• Strong project management and construction management experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail oriented with strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil-3D and GIS tools is a plus.
• Valid driver's license or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of engineers and staff on municipal projects from planning through construction.
• Independently manage projects and contribute to design and specifications.
• Mentor project team members and participate in business development activities.
• Prepare proposals and participate in client interviews to secure work.
• Coordinate with other engineering teams on multi-discipline projects.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and safety guidelines.
• Travel and possible overtime during construction season.
