Job summary

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Sr. Civil Engineer to join our team in Illinois. You will provide cost-effective, user-friendly developments for private owners and municipal clients, while developing new client relationships.

The role emphasizes plan, design, and management of various owner-driven civil projects, collaboration across disciplines, and business development support. A PE license is required, with PLS a plus, and 15+ years of experience are expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering is required.
• 15+ years of civil engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License required; Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) a plus.
• Strong team player capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong background in site design for greenfield and redevelopment projects.
• Strong knowledge of IDOT Standard Specifications and requirements.

Responsibilities

• Plan, design, and manage owner-driven civil engineering projects.
• Organize and complete projects from inception to completion.
• Support internal and external clients on land development projects.
• Collaborate with Farnsworth Group disciplines and client consultants.
• Balance internal and external project schedules and staffing.
• Prepare project proposals and assist with business development.
• Assist the professional growth and development of junior staff.
