Job summary

Farnsworth Group, Inc. is seeking a Construction Resident Engineer in Illinois to lead field staff on road and bridge projects.

You will manage contract administration, field engineering services, and project coordination for mid to large heavy highway construction efforts, with safety as a priority on all work activities. The ideal candidate holds a Civil Engineering degree and a PE license with 6+ years of transportation project experience, plus IDOT and OSHA certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• PE license required.
• 6+ years of resident engineering experience on transportation projects.
• IDOT/HMA/Concrete certifications and OSHA-10 familiarity.
• Strong communication and partnering skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the construction inspection team.
• Plan, prepare, and analyze construction documents.
• Manage construction contracts utilizing CMMS software.
• Prepare inspector daily reports for contractor progress payments.
• Review contractor schedules, staging plans, and submittals for contract compliance.
• Ensure safety of personnel and traveling public on all activities.
