Job summary

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Civil Engineer for our Municipal Group to join our team. You will work with local municipalities and private clients to plan, design and manage the construction of water and wastewater projects as well as the other various civil engineering projects.

This full-time role offers opportunities to mentor staff, engage with state and local authorities, and contribute to business development and project proposals across Illinois.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• 8–15 years of municipal, water, wastewater engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Strong project management experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Planning, design, permitting, funding, and construction of municipal projects
• Mentor staff and collaborate with rest of Civil team/offices
• Maintain relationships with state and local authorities.
• Communicate with Clients regarding current and future projects
• Attend City staff and council/board meetings as necessary
• Support Municipal related project development
• Assist with Client development and business development efforts
• Prepare project proposals
