Job summary

BKF, a multi-service infrastructure consulting firm, seeks an experienced Civil Engineer with a strong Land Development background to lead project delivery, mentor staff, and coordinate with clients and multidisciplinary teams.

The role covers grading, drainage, utilities, and roadway improvements, with ABET-accredited degree, CA PE preferred, 7+ years of experience, and AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency. Travel to BKF locations and client sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent.
• PE license required (California PE preferred).
• 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in land development engineering.
• Strong experience in site development design, including grading, drainage, utility infrastructure, and roadway improvements.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D required.
• Demonstrated project management experience, including budgeting, scheduling, and client coordination.
• Strong technical, communication, and leadership skills.
• Experience mentoring junior staff and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of land development projects including residential, commercial, mixed-use, industrial, and public infrastructure developments.
• Prepare and oversee grading, drainage, stormwater, utility, and roadway improvement plans.
• Develop technical reports, studies, specifications, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, invoicing, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery.
• Serve as a primary client contact and coordinate with agencies, consultants, and project stakeholders.
• Provide technical leadership, QA/QC review, and mentorship to engineering and design staff.
• Support entitlement, permitting, and construction-phase services as needed.
• Maintain knowledge of applicable Federal, State, County, and local design standards and regulations.
