Job summary

Langan is seeking a Senior Staff Civil Engineer to join our team in New York City, White Plains, or Melville, NY. You will lead planning, design, and permitting for civil engineering and land development projects across mixed-use, residential, education, and federal sectors.

Responsibilities include site/civil design, grading, stormwater management and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. A strong background in AutoCAD/Civil 3D and excellent communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
• EIT certification; PE certification preferred.
• 3+ years in site/civil design incl. site planning, grading, stormwater, drainage.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate within a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates and design plans using engineering software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.).
• Use reports, maps, drawings, plans, tests, and aerial photos to assess soil, terrain, hydrological and geologic data and their impact on planning and design.
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal land use permitting is a plus.
• Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments; and
• Perform other job duties as requested.
