Job summary

Kleinschmidt is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary team delivering dam removals, embankment repairs, fish passage facilities, recreation projects, and renewable energy solutions. You will contribute to designs and provide construction support across projects, collaborating with scientists, data analysts, and licensing experts.

This full-time, hybrid role offers office and remote work across several U.S. locations, with a preference for 2–3 days in the office.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or related field (required).
• Development and technical review of construction drawings, notes, typical details, specifications, material schedules, and quantity takeoffs.
• Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, including alignments, profiles, corridors, grading design, earthwork modeling, and basemaps.
• Experience in civil site development for roadways, drainage, land development, dam decommissioning/removal, stream restoration, and/or fish passage engineering.
• Experience leading projects, coordinating design development, ensuring quality, and managing scope, schedule, and budget.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.

Responsibilities

• Work with senior staff on all stages of project delivery from concept to issued for bid drawings.
• Coordinate design development with multidisciplinary teams and ensure technical quality.
• Lead project scope, schedule, and budget management andMentor junior staff.
