Job summary

Kleinschmidt is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join a multi-disciplinary team to develop designs and support construction for dam removals, embankment repairs, fish passage, and renewable energy projects. The role offers hybrid work with 2–3 days in the office across multiple US locations and requires PE licensure, 10+ years preferred, and AutoCAD Civil 3D expertise.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with construction drawings, notes, specs, takeoffs, and typical details.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, manage scope, schedule, and budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead design development and technical quality reviews for civil sites, dams, and hydropower projects.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and mentor junior staff.
• Prepare and review construction drawings, notes, specifications, and material takeoffs.
• Provide design and construction support for dam removals, embankment repairs, stream restorations, and fish passage facilities.
