Job summary

Hargrove Engineers & Constructors seeks an experienced Civil Designer IV to support industrial, site development, and infrastructure projects in Houston, TX. You will develop civil design deliverables, site layouts, grading plans, utility systems, and stormwater solutions, collaborating with Civil Engineers and Lead Designers from concept through construction.

Qualifications

• 8 to 10 years of relevant civil design experience preferred.
• Industrial civil/site or utility design experience strongly preferred.
• Experience in commercial, government, or infrastructure projects may also be considered.
• Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Computer-Aided Drafting, or a related field required.

Responsibilities

• Develop civil engineering construction and permitting drawings for projects ranging from small modifications to large capital developments.
• Design site grading, stormwater management systems, drainage improvements, and utility infrastructure.
• Create and maintain surface models, pipe networks, pressure pipe networks, and earthwork calculations.
• Develop conceptual site layouts and assist with project planning and cost studies.
• Coordinate project coordinate systems and collaborate with engineering and design teams.
• Perform field investigations, collect site data, verify existing conditions, and provide construction support as needed.
• Conduct land development and zoning research for civil site projects.
• Review and check design drawings, calculations, and related project documentation.
• Apply company drafting standards and best practices to all project work.
• Effectively communicate technical concepts and design solutions with project teams and clients.
