Job summary

Terranova Talent Solutions is seeking a Civil Engineer to join a growing Site Development team in Houston. Take projects from concept through construction, collaborating with clients and consultants, and leading civil design efforts on diverse land development projects.

You will use AutoCAD Civil 3D and H&H design, coordinate with consultants, manage scopes and budgets, and mentor CAD designers and junior engineers. Hybrid schedule may be available depending on assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 4+ years of land/site development experience.
• Active Texas PE license required.
• Strong AutoCAD Civil 3D and site design experience.
• Experience with drainage and H&H design.
• Familiarity with Houston permitting processes and agencies.

Responsibilities

• Prepare site development plans, reports, and studies for public/private projects.
• Lead civil design efforts and coordinate deliverables from planning through construction.
• Mentor and support CAD Designers and junior engineers.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and client expectations.
• Coordinate with external consultants and review supporting reports.
• Attend client meetings to discuss requirements and progress.
• Support construction administration activities, including RFIs and submittals.
• Ensure QA/QC standards are met.
• Participate in business development and relationship-building efforts.

We're looking for a Civil Engineer to join a growing Site Development team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys taking projects from concept through construction, collaborating with clients and consultants, and leading civil design efforts on a variety of land development projects. If you're experienced with AutoCAD Civil 3D, drainage/H&H design, permitting, and project management, we'd love to connect.

What You'll Be Doing

• Prepare site development plans, reports, and studies for a variety of public and private projects.
• Lead civil design efforts and coordinate project deliverables from planning through construction.
• Mentor and support CAD Designers and junior engineers.
• Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and client expectations.
• Coordinate with external consultants and review environmental, geotechnical, traffic, and other supporting reports.
• Attend client and stakeholder meetings to discuss project requirements, design solutions, and project progress.
• Support construction administration activities, including RFIs, submittals, site visits, and contractor coordination.
• Ensure projects adhere to established QA/QC standards and procedures.
• Participate in business development and relationship-building efforts.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• 4+ years of experience in land/site development engineering.
• Active Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Strong experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and site civil design.
• Experience with drainage and hydrology/hydraulics (H&H) design.
• Familiarity with local permitting processes and design standards, including municipalities and agencies throughout the Houston area.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with clients, consultants, and project teams.
