Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior civil designer to contribute to site grading, drainage and 3-D layout work for a Generation III+ reactor project. You will develop civil/site drawings in AVEVA, coordinate with mechanical teams, and mentor junior drafters as part of a multidisciplinary engineering group.

The role emphasizes collaboration across disciplines, delivering precise 3-D models and 2-D drawings, and ensuring timely project milestones within a nuclear facilities context.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in drafting or equivalent experience.
• Ten+ years of detailed design experience in civil/site layout, grading and drainage for industrial/power/nuclear facilities.
• Proficiency with 3-D design tools, including AVEVA 3D.
• Experience reviewing civil/site layouts; foundations, underground utilities, interfaces, and building systems.
• Ability to interface with engineers and designers across disciplines in power plant design.
• Experience coordinating civil/site deliverables with mechanical scope for support buildings.

Responsibilities

• Develop civil/site and physical layout drawings in a 3-D model environment.
• Perform site grading, drainage, earthwork, underground utility layouts for a nuclear project.
• Support the design of buildings and foundations, including site interfaces and utilities.
• Coordinate minor HVAC and piping design for support facilities with other teams.
• Use AVEVA 3D to generate and deliver civil/site schematics and layouts.
• Participate in integrated design model phases and mentor junior staff.
• Plan and execute site layout drawings, grading plans, earthwork drawings, and foundations.
• Possibly conduct field walkdowns at client facilities.
