Job description

We do not sponsor employees for work authorization in the U.S. for this position.

As a member of the civil design team, this position will offer you the opportunity to work with multi-disciplined engineering and design project teams in developing civil/site and physical layout drawings in a 3-D model environment and preparing associated 2-D drawing deliverables and drawing updates. This position is intended to support a new Generation III+ Reactor project with a focus on site grading and drainage design, development of buildings and structures not directly connected to the plant, and coordination of minor HVAC and piping design for those facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Work with multi-disciplined engineering and design project teams in developing civil/site and physical layout drawings in a 3-D model environment.
  • Perform challenging assignments involving site grading, drainage, earthwork, underground utility layout, access and roadway considerations, and general site development for a new nuclear project.
  • Support the design and layout of buildings and structures not directly connected to the plant, including associated foundations, site interfaces, and utility routing.
  • Coordinate minor HVAC and piping design for support buildings, with the ability to interface effectively with mechanical design and engineering team members.
  • Utilize AVEVA 3D and other applicable 3-D modeling software tools to generate and develop civil/site design schematics and physical layout deliverables.
  • Participate in the coordination of detailed design phases for all aspects of an integrated design model and provide guidance to other designers and project team members to ensure a complete and timely design.
  • Independently plan and execute design deliverables such as site layout drawings, grading and drainage plans, plot plans, earthwork drawings, underground utility drawings, foundation and support details, and building arrangement drawings.
  • There may be the opportunity to conduct field walkdowns and data gathering activities at client facilities.
  • Provide guidance as a mentor in the development of less experienced drafters and designers.
