Job summary
Black & Veatch is hiring a Virtual Design & Data Solutions (VDDS) Senior Engineering Technician in Overland Park, KS. The role leads design teams on site drainage, grading, and utilities using Autodesk Civil 3D or Bentley MicroStation within the E&PI group, supporting Battery Energy Storage System projects.
Strong CAD/BIM skills, problem solving, and mentoring are essential. We offer hybrid work options after 90 days, along with a comprehensive benefits package, ESOP ownership, tuition
Qualifications
- Associate Degree in Drafting or Engineering Design Related Technology is required.
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering Design Related Technology is preferred.
- Typically a minimum of 11 years related work experience.
Responsibilities
- Lead design teams in development of site drainage, grading, and utility plans using Civil 3D or MicroStation.
- Apply advanced technical expertise to solve complex design challenges within a discipline.
- Create, modify, and maintain technical drawings and project deliverables with CAD/BIM tools.
- Provide guidance to other technicians and ensure quality and adherence to project standards.
- Coordinate with design groups and support field activities as required.
