Job summary

Black & Veatch VDDS team is seeking a Senior Engineering Technician to lead design efforts in site drainage, grading, and utility plans using Autodesk Civil 3D and Bentley MicroStation, within the EPI group for Battery Energy Storage System projects. The role requires advanced Civil 3D experience and strong leadership in design development.

You will mentor technicians, ensure quality and standards, and collaborate across disciplines to deliver complex solutions.

Qualifications

Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology required.
Bachelor Degree in an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.
Typically a minimum of 11 years related work experience.

Responsibilities

Functions as a senior engineering technician, technical design specialist, and/or supervisor.
Applies advanced technical expertise to solve complex design challenges within a specific engineering discipline.
Uses CAD/BIM tools to create, modify, and maintain technical documentation, drawings, and project deliverables.
Provides consultation, training, and oversight to other engineering technicians to ensure quality and compliance with project standards.
Reviews design inputs to ensure alignment and consistency.
