Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Staff Engineering Technician in Houston, TX, within the VDDS group. You will perform advanced technician functions supporting site drainage, grading, and utility plan development using Autodesk Civil 3D and Bentley MicroStation.

Responsibilities include applying engineering principles, producing deliverables, and collaborating with design teams while advancing BV Quality and ESOP-owned culture. Hybrid work options available after the first 90 days.

Qualifications

• Typically a minimum of 5 years related work experience.
• Must pass pre-employment background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search.
• Diploma or Certificate required.
• Associate Degree in Drafting or an Engineering Design Related Technology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Functions in a project engineering technician capacity.
• Supports engineering and design teams by developing and modifying technical deliverables.
• Applies foundational engineering principles to create design concepts and solutions.
• Uses CAD/BIM/3D modeling to create and maintain project documentation.
