Job summary

WSB is seeking a Senior Engineering Specialist to lead civil design across municipal, land development, and transportation projects in Texas. This role combines technical leadership with development of tools, templates, and workflows to improve efficiency, quality, and innovation.

You will mentor junior staff, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, ensure constructability, and liaise with project managers and clients to deliver designs that meet rigorous standards and client expectations.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology, CAD Design, or equivalent.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in municipal, land development, or renewable energy engineering with leadership in design and coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil design development ensuring technical excellence and regulatory compliance.
• Prepare and refine drawings and construction documents for municipal and transportation projects.
• Oversee plan sheets and plan sets using CAD/Revit and advanced design tools.
• Mentor Engineering Technicians, engineers‑in‑training, and staff.
• Coordinate with internal teams and other disciplines to ensure design integration.
• Establish and enforce quality control for constructability and risk mitigation.
• Develop conceptual, preliminary, and final designs with PMs and Engineers of Record; assist in proposals and cost estimates.
• Represent the firm in client meetings to ensure alignment between design intent and client expectations.
• Drive continuous improvement by creating design standards, templates, and workflows.
