Job summary

WSB is seeking a Director of Municipal Services in Texas to provide strategic, operational, and technical leadership for municipal engineering projects. You will oversee multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets, and drive client relationships while ensuring delivery excellence.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree, PE registration, and 8+ years of municipal engineering experience, with preference for experience in Central Texas and working with municipal clients and regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
• PE registration or ability to obtain within six months is preferred.
• 8+ years municipal engineering experience or direct municipal experience.
• Experience with City of Austin is preferred.
• Experience managing multi-disciplinary projects and staff in Central Texas is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of mid-level and first-level leaders and individual contributors.
• Scale regional, functional, and client operations.
• Translate growth strategy into team goals and annual plans.
• Secure resources and budget for the team.
• Oversee policy setting and foster a collaborative culture.
• Manage the municipal group's financial performance and revenue targets.
• Coach and mentor staff; conduct performance reviews.
• Oversee staffing, hiring, and compensation for assigned group.
• Possibly manage multi-discipline projects from proposal to closeout.
• Collaborate with municipal client staff to deliver CIP programs and projects, potentially on-site.
• Build and maintain relationships with municipal clients and ensure project requirements are met.
• Develop project budgets and allocate/resources; monitor expenditures.
