Job summary

Accela seeks a Senior Consultant to lead end-to-end Civic Platform implementations for government agencies worldwide. You will own EMSE scripting, REST-based integrations, and complex configuration, collaborating with engineering, product, and project management to standardize solutions and accelerate delivery.

You will mentor junior consultants, drive best practices, and travel up to 25% to client sites and industry events while ensuring on-time, on-budget project outcomes.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years configuring Civic Platform with EMSE scripting and related components.
• Strong JavaScript skills and server-side scripting.
• Understanding of SaaS, multi-tenancy and application servers.
• REST, JSON and HTTP-based integration troubleshooting.
• SQL proficiency with SQL Server and knowledge of Accela data model.
• Experience leading customer-facing sessions and translating requirements into design.
• Full lifecycle implementation experience from discovery to go-live.
• Proficiency with Git, GitHub, Jira and Confluence in delivery lifecycle.
• Track record of tooling/automation improvements and reusable patterns.

Responsibilities

• Analyze client needs; deliver scalable Civic Platform solutions meeting business and technical requirements.
• Lead discovery with agency stakeholders and translate into Digital Plan Room design.
• Produce design documents, configuration specs and business rules documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering/product to architect innovative plan review solutions.
• Own Civic Platform configuration and EMSE scripting tasks across environments.
• Design and run testing and user acceptance; deliver training; lead go-live.
• Manage multiple concurrent implementations with a project manager.
• Serve as senior technical escalation for production issues and drive resolutions.
• Improve practices with automation, templates and tooling; promote Jira/Confluence usage.
• Mentor junior consultants and promote knowledge sharing.
