Job summary

IREN in Childress, TX is seeking a Chiller Technician III to operate and maintain the central utility plant on 12-hour shifts across West Texas campuses. You will manage chillers, cooling towers, pumps, and direct-to-chip liquid cooling, acting as senior technician and technical escalation on shift.

This role requires 5+ years hands-on experience with HVAC plant and central utility systems, EPA 608 cert, and ability to read P&IDs; travel between Texas and Oklahoma campuses.

Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience maintaining/commercial or industrial chillers and HVAC plant.
• EPA Section 608 Universal certification is required.
• Proficiency with chiller refrigerant circuits, cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, VFDs and hydronic systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and maintain the central utility plant (CUP) on assigned shifts as senior technician.
• Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance and document it accurately.
• Maintain and troubleshoot direct-to-chip and immersion cooling infrastructure.
• Perform routine rounds and elevate abnormal trends or alarms promptly.
• Diagnose and repair complex mechanical faults and lead corrective work.
• Support water treatment programmes and log refrigerant records.
• Act as senior on-shift responder for thermal alarms and incidents.
