Job summary

IREN is hiring a Chiller Technician I to help operate the central utility plant at our West Texas and Oklahoma campuses. This entry-level role reports to the Associate Director of Operations and offers structured training with a clear path toward higher technician levels as the portfolio grows.

The role requires hands-on chillers/HVAC work, EPA 608 certification, and the ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• 1+ years hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting commercial or industrial chillers and HVAC plant
• EPA Section 608 certification is required (Type II minimum)
• Reading mechanical drawings, schematics and control sequences
• Willingness to train on direct-to-chip and immersion liquid cooling systems
• Must live within commutable distance of the assigned campus; relocation assistance available

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor and maintain the central utility plant (CUP) on assigned shifts
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and document findings
• Support liquid cooling infrastructure including CDUs and manifolds
• Take routine operator readings and escalate anomalies
• Assist in diagnosing straightforward mechanical faults and follow SOPs
