Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Staff Engineer – Chiller SME to lead multi‑functional teams across manufacturing, design, quality and supply chain.

You will guide technical resolution of complex chiller design and application issues for air‑cooled screw chillers used in data centers and mission critical environments. You will coordinate DFMEA/SFMEA activities, assist in field testing, and help generate service content and training materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with 8–10 years related experience, or 15 years in HVAC/mission-critical fields.
• Proven ability to lead an execution team and coordinate resources across functions.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with internal and external customers.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 15%.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead and participate in cross-functional teams to drive improvements for data center chillers.
• Guide technical teams on complex design and application issues using extensive product knowledge.
• Coordinate DFMEA/SFMEA activities, design reviews, and reliability test plans.
• Develop and maintain service literature content and training materials.
• Collaborate with global teams to share best practices and prevent issues on new products.
• Support warranty teams with root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
