Job summary

Chester County’s Department of Children, Youth & Families seeks a County Casework Supervisor to oversee caseworkers in child welfare units, guiding investigations, safety planning and service delivery to families and children in need. The role requires strong supervision, reporting and coordination with courts and community partners.

The ideal candidate provides staff training, ensures compliance with laws, maintains accurate records, and acts as a liaison to services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree requirements plus two years of relevant social services experience.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and use of a private vehicle.
• DHS Child Welfare Certification is preferred for advanced eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, motivate and train staff through conferences and referrals.
• Assist with tracking and reviewing client information.
• Assign caseloads and coordinate staff counseling services for emergencies.
• Produce, distribute and monitor reports reflecting statistical data on cases.
• Help analyze case problems and improve diagnostic and helping skills.
• Review case records and recommend actions to ensure quality of service.
• Monitor, implement and maintain policies and procedures.
• Oversee preparation of court documents and attendance at hearings.
• Coordinate case preparation with legal liaison and attend court hearings.
• Provide case management in staff absence.
• Ensure compliance with state regulations and county policies.
