Job summary

County of Chester is seeking a Caseworker for the Children, Youth and Families division to assess needs, develop plans and coordinate services for families involved in child welfare cases.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Social Sciences (or 12 credits with experience) and a valid driver’s license; a Master’s in Social Sciences is preferred. Background checks and clearances are required after an offer.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences required or 12 credits in Social Sciences with one year experience in human services.
• Two years experience in the human services field preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and use of a private vehicle required.

Responsibilities

• Assess situation to determine risk of child harm per regulatory guidelines.
• Develop individual treatment plans based on client needs.
• Prepare timely assessments, reports and summaries.
• Coordinate and implement the plan and monitor progress.
• Make referrals and coordinate services for clients.
• Maintain client records and tracking in accordance with agency policies.
• Attend conferences with collateral agencies related to client services.
• Maintain a professional public image per county policy.
