Job summary

Afognak Native Corporation seeks a Chief Engineer to assist the PM in supervising the bargaining unit workforce and to oversee maintenance, repair, and operation of all equipment at the site. The role ensures safe, compliant operations and regulatory adherence.

Responsibilities include coordinating with departments on project milestones and budgets, and providing technical leadership within the engineering team. Strong leadership, engineering expertise, and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or related field). Master’s degree or PE certification preferred.
• 10+ years in large government facilities or similar, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
• TS/SCI clearance; Security+ and Network+ certification within 45 days.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Stationary Engineer First Grade license (Washington DC) or higher is required.
• Regular work hours 6–3 and 24/7 emergency call availability.
• OSHA 30 certification and active driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Assist PM to plan and execute maintenance and repair projects.
• Oversee engineering projects and ensure compliance with standards and safety protocols.
• Develop preventive maintenance schedules and ensure efficient operation of systems.
• Allocate resources and negotiate with suppliers and contractors.
