Job summary

Afognak Native Corporation is seeking a Chief Engineer to supervise personnel and oversee the maintenance, operation, and repair of all facility systems. The role ensures safety, regulatory compliance, and efficient performance across all sites.

You will assist the Project Manager, provide technical leadership to maintenance staff, develop preventive maintenance programs, coordinate with other departments, and liaise with suppliers.

Qualifications

• Secret clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree in facilities management discipline.
• 5+ years of supervisory experience in physical plant and building operations including power plants for large facilities.
• Certificate from AFE (CPE), USCG Third Assistant Engineer License, or U.S. State Stationary Engineers License.
• Strong technical acumen in facility operations and maintenance.
• Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise personnel and manage maintenance, operation, and repair of facility systems.
• Assist the Project Manager in planning and executing maintenance and repair projects.
• Provide technical support and expertise to maintenance staff.
• Ensure compliance with regulations, standards, and licensing bodies.
• Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs for all equipment and systems.
• Coordinate project execution with other departments to ensure seamless integration.
• Liaise with suppliers and contractors as needed.
• Travel to project sites and work in both office and field environments.
• May require work outside of regular business hours to address urgent technical issues or deadlines.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and work in varied environments.
