Job summary

Cushman & Wakefield in Providence, RI, seeks a Sr. Chief Engineer to lead engineering and maintenance across a 500k+ sq ft portfolio. You will supervise staff, guide inspections, energy audits, and HVAC/electrical/plumbing systems to ensure safety and compliance.

You will develop preventive maintenance programs, assist with budgets and capital planning, and coordinate with contractors and tenants to optimize operations and reliability.

Qualifications

• 10+ years engineering experience with significant supervisory responsibility in a commercial property setting.
• Experience in operation, installation and maintenance of building systems with in-depth technical understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervision of engineering and maintenance staff, including hiring, training, personnel development and performance review.
• Oversee properties totaling 500k square feet or more.
• Conduct and assist with inspections and surveys, energy audits and analysis, HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems, environmental and ADA compliance.
• Supervise and review technical operations, surveys, energy audits and analysis, HVAC and electrical and plumbing systems, environmental compliance, ADA compliance and acquisitions, and third-party surveys.
• Assist in development of preventive maintenance and engineering procedures, hazardous materials communication plans, fire safety and life safety programs, quality control for water and indoor air quality programs.
• Assist in development of budgets, cost estimates, and capital planning; coordinate with service contractors and vendors.
• Coordinate and track career development for engineers and perform/assist in performance evaluations.
• Oversee building systems; stay current with HVAC technology trends and maintenance methodologies.
• Coordinate maintenance with outside contractors, tenant finish personnel and engineers.
