Job summary

SSOE Group seeks a Senior Chemical Process Engineer to join our integrated design‑build team in Boise, ID. You will lead design and execution of high‑purity process systems for semiconductor, cleanroom, and mission‑critical facilities, collaborating with senior engineers and multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from ABET-accredited school in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
• Active PE license or ability to obtain by reciprocity is highly desired.
• 7+ years of process engineering experience, preferably in a design‑build or EPC environment.
• Experience on semiconductor/high-tech manufacturing, cleanroom, or mission-critical facilities.
• Foundational knowledge in UPW/HPW, specialty gas/chemical distribution, wastewater, piping, and heat exchangers.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and engineering of process systems including fluid transfer and high-purity piping.
• Contribute to systems involving UPW, HPW, specialty gases, chemical distribution, and wastewater treatment.
• Perform engineering calculations such as flow analysis, pressure drop, pump sizing, and basic heat transfer.
• Develop PFDs, P&IDs, and system layouts under guidance of senior engineers.
• Participate in equipment selection and specification including pumps, filtration, heat exchangers, and chemical delivery.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and controls teams to ensure coordinated design in a design‑build environment.
• Support field activities including construction coordination, walkthroughs, and commissioning efforts.
• Assist with troubleshooting and resolving issues during design and installation.
• Ensure designs align with codes, standards, and client requirements.
