Job summary

SSOE Group in Scottsdale, AZ seeks a Senior Process Engineer to lead and support chemical industry projects from inception through construction. You will develop PFDs, P&IDs, process calculations, equipment specifications, and participate in procurement, with opportunities to mentor teams and coordinate with allied disciplines both locally and virtually.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Chemical Engineering, a PE license or progression toward licensure, and 10+ years of experience in chemical

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Chemical Engineering, which qualifies for licensure in the state of practice.
• Professional Engineering Licensure (PE) or tracked to becoming PE.
• 10+ years of working experience required.
• Exposure to chemical plants, metals processing, food, beverage or consumer product plants, and/or other related industrial settings strongly preferred.
• Dust Collection or experience with Dust Hazard Analysis is a plus.
• Product Packaging experience is a plus.
• Experience with a chemical simulation program, such as ChemCAD or Aspen.
• Experience using Pipe Flo or AFT Fathom a plus.
• Ability to work in a client-facing role while partnering with contractors and vendors.
• Experience with building codes and chemical storage requirements.
• Experience with utility system equipment and distribution systems.
• Experience with industrial wastewater treatment a plus.

Responsibilities

• Leading engineering studies, write reports, develop and complete engineering calculations.
• Perform or assist with the development of PFDs and P&IDs, process calculations, equipment specifications, and procurement.
• Provide engineering oversite and checking of process deliverables.
• Coordinate with multi-discipline engineering and design teams to complete necessary project tasks.
• Assist in the creation of bid packages.
• Perform field work to support the above responsibilities.
