Job summary

SSOE Group in Hillsboro, Oregon is seeking a Process Engineer to join an integrated design-build team supporting advanced technology, semiconductor, cleanroom, and mission-critical facilities. You will design and execute critical process systems, working with senior engineers to deliver reliable solutions.

This role offers exposure to UPW, HPW, specialty gas and chemical distribution, wastewater treatment, and pump sizing, with emphasis on safety, quality, and innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Exposure to projects in semiconductor, advanced high-tech manufacturing, cleanroom, or mission-critical facilities.
• Foundational knowledge of UPW/HPW, gas/chemical distribution, and wastewater treatment.
• Familiarity with PFDs and P&IDs.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Support the design and engineering of process systems, including fluid transfer, heat exchange, and high-purity piping systems.
• Contribute to systems involving ultrapure water, high-purity water, specialty gases, chemical distribution, and wastewater treatment.
• Perform engineering calculations such as flow analysis, pressure drop, pump sizing, and basic heat transfer evaluations.
• Assist in the development of PFDs, P&IDs, and system layouts under the guidance of senior engineers.
• Participate in equipment selection and specification, including pumps, filtration systems, heat exchangers, and chemical delivery systems.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and controls teams to ensure coordinated system design in a design-build environment.
• Support field activities including construction coordination, system walkthroughs, and commissioning efforts.
• Assist with troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during design and installation phases.
• Ensure designs align with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
