Job summary

North Carolina Baptist Hospital's Acute Care for Elderly Unit (ACE) seeks an experienced Charge Nurse to oversee geriatric patient care and unit operations. You will lead shift planning, staff coordination, and clinical supervision to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes for older adults in a NICHE-designated, Age-Friendly Health System environment.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a registered nurse in North Carolina.
• CPR certification required; CRRN preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with a BSN or diploma.
• Two to four years of progressive nursing experience.
• Demonstrated leadership and/or advanced education in leadership.

Responsibilities

• Unit management and safe, quality patient care.
• Prepare shift assignments based on staff education and patient acuity.
• Monitor unit activities and adjust staffing as needed.
• Collaborate with supervisors/director for schedule changes.
• Supervise and delegate patient care.
• Lead performance improvement and safety initiatives.
• Attend meetings and participate in policy revisions.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers, and discharges.
