Job summary

North Carolina Baptist Hospital's Acute Care Elderly Unit (ACE) seeks a Charge Nurse to manage the 16-bed unit, ensuring safe, high-quality geriatric care and leading a team of nurses and support staff.

You will assign shifts, monitor patient acuity, coordinate admissions/transfers, and collaborate with the Patient Care Supervisor to maintain smooth operations; licensure as an RN in NC and CPR certification are required, CRRN preferred.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of progressive nursing experience in healthcare.
• Demonstrated clinical competency as a professional nurse.
• Leadership skills or advanced education in leadership.

Responsibilities

• Unit management and safe, quality patient care.
• Prepare shift assignments considering staff education, experience and patient acuity.
• Monitor unit activities and ensure timely, neat execution of tasks.
• Collaborate with supervisor to adjust schedules for safe operations.
• Supervise and delegate patient care; monitor patient conditions.
• Coordinate admissions, transfers and discharges as needed.
• Participate in safety procedures, drills and performance improvements.
