Job summary

Zoic Studios is seeking an experienced Senior Character Animator for a remote, short-term project in the United States. You will create high-quality performances for live-action productions, collaborating across Animation, FX, Rigging, and Lighting to ensure seamless integration through a studio pipeline.

The role requires a strong reel, expert Maya skills, understanding of anatomy, and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Professional experience as a 3D animator in film and/or television VFX — required.
• Reel of most current work with breakdown of responsibilities/specific contributions.
• Strong proficiency animating in Maya from reference, with the ability to own shots through to final.
• Solid understanding of anatomy, weight, and physical movement — essential for believable work.
• Hands-on experience working with motion capture data in Maya.
• Ability to thrive in a fast production environment with shifting priorities.
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative, proactive attitude.
• Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to follow-through.

Responsibilities

• Create high-quality, realistic animation for live-action film and television productions.
• Collaborate with Animation, FX, Rigging, and Lighting departments to integrate shots seamlessly.
• Work within an established pipeline to take shots from blocking to final polish.
• Deliver work on time while maintaining the studio’s quality standards.
• Process and refine motion capture data in Maya to support character performances.
• Participate in review sessions and incorporate feedback efficiently.
