Job summary

MiniMed, a leader in CGM technology, seeks a qualified engineer to lead failure analysis across sensor development. You will work with R&D, regulatory, quality, and clinical teams to identify root causes and drive improvements in device reliability and manufacturability.

Required is a biomedical/chemical engineering background with 4+ years of experience, and knowledge of in‑vitro/in‑vivo testing for subcutaneous devices. This role supports a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelors degree and minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
• Masters of Science Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related Engineering field with 5+ years of professional experience.
• Medical Device Industry Experience.
• Experience in product design and development in an R&D environment.
• Experience in mechanical and/or electrochemical systems.
• Direct experience in characterization, design of experiments and data analysis methodologies (T-test, ANOVA and significance testing at a minimum)
• Knowledge about in‑vitro and in‑vivo testing of subcutaneous medical devices.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and identify root causes of failures in complex microfabricated electrochemical bio-sensors.
• Develop, record, and perform failure analyses to determine root causes of failure.
• Write formal analysis reports with clear messaging for submitter and broader audience.
• Collaborate with technicians and engineers to assess existing and potential failures.
• Identify opportunities for improvements in product quality, reliability, manufacturability, and functionality.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts based on analysis results.
• Develop test methodologies and utilize data from tests and complaints to support QA.
