Job summary

Admiral Insurance Group is seeking a Claims Superintendent for CGL, construction defect, and long-term exposure. You will determine and discharge contractual obligations across policy contracts, overseeing coverage analysis, investigation, defense, and reserving.

Lead claims teams, supervise independent adjusters, and ensure compliance with procedures and law. The role requires 7+ years in commercial claims, strong communication, and the ability to manage complex files, with up to 20% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred (or equivalent work experience).
• 7+ years commercial insurance claims handling experience with focus on General Liability and long-term exposure, construction defect emphasized.
• Experience with cost sharing arrangements and MDL preferred.
• Ability to assess priorities and manage deadlines effectively.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
• Up to 20% travel.

Responsibilities

• Present facts of claims, with recommendations, to committee as necessary on General Liability claims.
• Incorporate all claims into company records and review for applicability of coverage.
• Prepare large loss reports where applicable.
• Attend and participate in mediations/trials as necessary.
• Establish appropriate loss and expense reserves; maintain reserves based on investigation and discovery.
• Supervise Independent Adjusters, investigators and defense attorneys to ensure proper handling of claims.
• Comply with company procedures, Best Practice guidelines, and applicable law when coverage is in question or when paying/denying claims.
• Maintain understanding of unfair claim practices statutes.
• Incorporate all claims into records and review coverage applicability.
• Participate in broker relations calls/visits as needed.
• Attend industry seminars/workshops for continuing education.
