Job summary

Orlando Health Physician Associates is seeking a Senior Certified Medical Assistant to support physicians and APPs in an ambulatory setting. The role emphasizes leadership to drive quality care and mentoring for professional practice, at the 4401 South Orange Avenue location in Orlando, FL.

Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with opportunities to coordinate patient testing and follow-up care. The position requires CMA certification (CCMA, CMA, CMAC, NCMA, NRCMA or NRCAMA, NRCCT, NAHP, AMT/ARMA etc.),

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school (or equivalent work experience).
• Minimum three years as Certified Medical Assistant.
• Maintains current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.
• Maintains current certification or registry by one of the listed certifying agencies.

Responsibilities

• Accountable to leadership for operational issues.
• Participates in quality initiatives and clinical outcome improvements.
• Communicates effectively with patients and families.
• Gathers patient data through interview and observation.
• Assists patients and families with preparation for examination.
• Assists physician or APP during examination and procedures.
• Documents data, treatments and education per policy.
• Enter orders into EMR under provider direction.
• Acts as liaison to schedule tests and specialty consultations.
• Leads orientation and mentoring of Medical Assistants.
• Supports quality strategies within the practice.
• Maintains attendance and compliance with policies.
