Job summary

Orlando Health Physician Associates in Oviedo, FL is seeking a Senior Certified Medical Assistant to support the physician or APP in an ambulatory setting. This role leads quality care initiatives, mentors Medical Assistants, and coordinates patient flow and data entry across the electronic medical record.

The position requires a High School Diploma or equivalent, Medical Assistant training, CMA certification, and current BLS; at least 3 years CMA experience; bilingual English/Spanish preferred;

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school (or verifiable applicable work experience in patient care setting) required.
• Minimum three (3) years as Certified Medical Assistant.
• Maintains current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification and appropriate CMA/registry credentials (CCMA, CMA, CMAC, NCMA, NRCMA/NRCAMA, RMA/ARMA).

Responsibilities

• Accountable to the Assistant Nurse Manager, Nursing Operations Manager, or Practice Manager for operational issues.
• Embraces and participates in quality initiatives and clinical outcome improvements.
• Supports effective communication with patients and families.
• Gathers patient data and assists during examinations.
• Enter medications, labs and imaging orders into the EMR under provider direction.
• Mentor and supervise Medical Assistants as preceptor in coordination with leadership.
