Job summary

Orlando Health Physician Associates is seeking a Senior Certified Medical Assistant to provide patient care under the supervision of physicians or APPs in an ambulatory setting. The role involves leading patient data collection, assisting in examinations, and coordinating scheduling and referrals.

The candidate should have a CMA credential, current BLS, and at least 3 years of CMA experience, with a commitment to quality care and professional practice within Orlando Health.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school.
• Minimum three (3) years as Certified Medical Assistant.
• Maintains current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.
• Maintains current certification or registry by one of the listed CMA-related organizations.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician or APP during examinations and procedures.
• Gathers patient data through interview and observation.
• Enter medication, laboratory and diagnostic imaging orders into the EMR under provider direction.
• Provide routine treatments and administer approved medications as ordered.
• Assist with scheduling, referrals and coordination of care for patients.
• Lead orientation and mentor Medical Assistants; participate in quality improvement activities.
• Maintain compliance with Orlando Health policies and attend to regulatory requirements.

Education

High school graduate or equivalent

Medical Assistant training (approved technical school)

Minimum three (3) years CMA experience

BLS Healthcare Provider Certification

Professional CMA certifications (CCMA, CMA, CMAC, NCMA, NRCMA, NRCAMA, RMA, ARMA)
