Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school (or at least one year of verifiable work experience as a Medical Assistant).
• Minimum three years as Certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
• Maintains current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.
• Maintains CMA/CCMA/CMAC/NCMA/NRCMA/NRCAMA or ARMA/AMT/N AH P certifications as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Gathers patient data through interview and observation.
• Assists patients and families with preparation for examination.
• Assists the physician or APP during examination and procedures.
• Documents patient data, treatments, procedures, and education.
• Enter medication, laboratory and diagnostic imaging orders into the EMR under provider direction.
• Processes incoming and outgoing calls professionally.
• Contributes to ongoing quality initiatives and competency assessments.
