Job summary

Orlando Health Physician Associates in Sanford, FL is seeking a Senior Certified Medical Assistant to support ambulatory patient care under the supervision of a physician or APP. Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Medical Assistant training from an approved technical school (or verifiable work experience).
• Minimum three (3) years as Certified Medical Assistant.
• Maintains current BLS Healthcare Provider Certification.
• Current certifications: CCMA, CMA, CMAC, NCMA, NRCMA, NRCAMA, RMA (AMT), ARMA.

Responsibilities

• Accountable to the Assistant Nurse Manager, Nursing Operations Manager, or Practice Manager for operational issues.
• Embraces and participates in quality initiatives, goal attainment, and clinical outcome process improvement activities
• Supports and demonstrates effective and professional communication with patients and family members
• Works collaboratively with the administrative and operations staff.
• Gathers patient data through interview and observation.
• Assists patients and families with preparation for examination.
• Assists the physician or APP during examination and procedures.
• Demonstrates competency in tasks defined by the practice.
• Documents patient data, treatments, procedures, and education per policies.
• Assists the physician or APP by coordinating scheduling and specialty testing information.
• Processes calls professionally using sound clinical judgment.
• Leads orientation for Medical Assistants and acts as preceptor as needed.
• Supports quality strategies within the practice.
• Participates in Annual Clinical Review for Medical Assistants.
• Collaborates with leadership to assess ongoing competence of Medical Assistants.
• Leads departmental committees and special projects.
• Maintains regular attendance per Orlando Health policies.
• Maintains compliance with all policies and regulatory standards.
• Demonstrates age-appropriate care and awareness of medical/legal issues.
• Manages supplies efficiently.
• Assists business office with reception, scheduling, and discharge.
